Product Description The U.S. Solid 1/4" 24V AC Normally Closed Solenoid Valve with a VITON gasket and solid brass body is designed for outdoor use but not underwater. Direction of the Flow Most U.S. Solid Valves are unidirectional, so it is crucial to observe the arrow on the valve. The valves are intended to flow in one direction only, in the direction of the arrow. Connecting them in the opposite direction can lead to improper actuation (especially for Normally Closed valves). Additionally, ensure that the medium passing through is filtered to prevent particles from adhering to the gasket over time, potentially causing sealing issues.

THREADING U.S. Solid Valves adhere to National Standards for pipe thread. It is recommended to use Teflon tape to ensure the NPT threading seal. The tapered male and female thread create angled surfaces that, with increased torque, compress the Teflon tape, resulting in a tight seal.

OVERHEATING To prevent overheating, these valves should not be energized for more than 8 hours continuously. While most have a power output of no more than 18W, prolonged energizing could damage the coils. Consider using a computer fan to keep the coil cool during extended operation.

POLARITY For valves with two wires, the actuation occurs regardless of the wire terminal polarity. Ground wires, when present, should be connected to ground for proper functioning.

GASOLINE and PRESSURE WARNING Avoid using NBR gaskets with gasoline or similar substances. Opt for VITON gaskets for applications involving such fluids. All solenoid valves require some pressure to function correctly, particularly pilot or indirectly operated valves.
